Yoga Classes Near ETSU
Soluna Sage is a yoga studio in Downtown Johnson City, about a mile and a half from ETSU's main campus — five minutes by car, a walk if the weather's good. We're at 303 Colonial Way, Second Floor, with free parking, classes seven days a week starting at 6:15 AM, and three weeks of unlimited yoga for $40 if you want to try it properly.
How far is it from campus?
About a mile and a half from the middle of campus to our front door. Five minutes to drive, and there's free parking when you get here — 8 spots in our own lot, plus free street parking and a free public lot under the I-26 overpass. If you live downtown, you can walk.
Do the class times work with my class schedule?
That's what our schedule is built around. There are classes before 8 AM every weekday, mid-morning classes at 9:15, and evening classes at 6:00 PM. Before class 6:15 AM, Monday through Friday Between classes 9:15 AM, Monday through Friday After class 6:00 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Weekends Saturday 9:00 and 10:30 AM, Sunday 9:00 and 10:30 AM Every in-person class is also livestreamed, so if you're stuck in the library or your car won't start, you can take the exact same class from your room with the same teacher.
What does it cost on a student budget?
Three weeks unlimited (new students) ... $40 Single class .......................... $28 Core Membership, 8 classes/month ...... $80/month Unlimited Membership .................. $100/month Online-only Membership ................ $50/month Free on-demand class .................. $0 Start with the $40 three-week pass. It's unlimited, it covers every class and every teacher, and it's the cheapest honest way to find out whether you'll actually keep going.
I’ve never done yoga. Is that a problem?
No. Most people who walk in here for the first time have never done yoga, and a decent number of them are ETSU students. Start with Slow Flow Vinyasa or Yin — both are slow, both are explained as they go, and both are full of people who started exactly where you are. Tell your teacher it's your first class and they'll take care of you. You don't need to be flexible or fit. Mats are free to borrow. If you'd rather try it alone first, our free Yoga for Beginners series is online, free, and requires no card.
Is it a good way to deal with stress?
It's one of the reasons a lot of our students come. A 60-minute class where your phone is out of sight and nobody needs anything from you turns out to be a reasonable way to handle a heavy semester. Our Yin and Soluna classes in particular are built entirely around slowing the nervous system down.
We'll say the 9:15 AM Yin class on a Tuesday is a very good place to be.
